Your role as an Agency Nurse

The role of the Agency Nurse is to work alongside other registered nurses and care assistants in supporting them to provide quality care to all clients at all times. You may work in a variety of settings including Residential Homes, Nursing Homes, Hospices, Respite Care, NHS Hospitals and Private Hospitals. Duties of an Agency Nurse

Because of the nature of your work, the duties and responsibilities of an agency nurse can vary widely depending on a specific assignment or location. But general responsibilities include:

  • Assess patient health
  • Administer Care and Medication
  • Maintain Patient Records
  • Supervising and Training less-qualified healthcare staff
  • Ensuring that personal care plans are followed
  • Being mindful and reporting of any Safeguarding issues

Required skills and experience of an Agency Nurse
