There are hundreds of similar events taking place throughout September and October in aid of the charity. Last year, 50,000 people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds took part and helped to raise an incredible £3.9m towards vital research into a cure for dementia.
The staff at Swanstaff decided to get involved as a way to show support for not only the families and friends of those affected by dementia, but also the care homes they support who care for many residents with the condition.
Swanstaff CEO Steve Rogers said, “Dementia is a condition affecting an increasing number of people nationwide every year, so raising money and awareness is more important than ever before. I am so proud of all the staff here who have decided to get involved in a Memory Walk to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. This is truly a great representation of staff “exceeding expectations, going the extra mile” which embodies one of the Swanstaff core values.”
