Swanstaff are currently looking for a HGV Fleet Supervisor with a HGV Class 1 licence. This is a temp to perm position to work with a friendly based company in Northfleet.

This position is an interview process with our client.

Job requirement

  • Basic working week is Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota basis (this may vary depending requirements of the business)
  • Start time 6am
  • Fleet Supervisor / HGV Class 1 driver experience

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Assisting with H&S compliance and management

  • Ensuring Health & Safety legislation & procedures are adhered to
  • Working along side the Fleet Manager to ensure that the HGV fleet are compliant & road worthy
  • Audit, where necessary, safe systems of work and risk assessments. Ensuring that they effective and followed accordingly
  • Ensure all staff on site are wearing correct PPE

Assisting with meeting your departments requirements for maintaining accreditations

  • Quality standards are adhered to
  • Auditing the general maintenance and cleanliness of HGV fleet
  • All actions are completed and adhered to, so accreditations are maintained
  • Continual auditing of all processes and procedures for the department
  • Actively using the bespoke systems to continually strive to improve standards, processes and procedures

Assisting with any HR requirements for your department

  • Any projects are set and agreed with management and are undertaken in a structured and timely manner
  • Assist with the completion of departmental objectives for the Transport Department
  • Assist with performance management of HGV team where required
  • Assist the HGV Fleet Manager to ensure suitable and professional procedures, training is carried out within your department and across the HGV team when required
  • Ensuring adequate and professional communication

Assisting with HGV fleet management and cost efficiencies within the HGV team

  • Any reasonable defects within your capabilities are repaired
  • Assist the Transport Manager & Dispatch Site Manager with HGV agency staff inductions
  • Assist Dispatch Site Manager with effective yard management
  • Cost control – HGV fleet

  • Rates of pay £17ph standard, £22ph overtime rate based on working over 40hrs per week
  • Holiday paid extra £2.05ph
