As a Senior Finance Manager, you are expected to be a professional lead within your respective area of finance, provide expertise and high-quality financial services to senior stakeholders, proactively contribute to the achievement of the finance service's vision, and contribute towards an innovative, high performance and continuous improvement culture.
Responsibilities
- Leading and developing the accounting and payroll departments
- Management of 3 direct reports, Finance Manager, Accounts Assistant and Head of Credit Control.
- Supervising end of period processes
- Analysis and the preparation of periodical business performance, budgets and forecasts
- Working with departmental heads across the company in supporting their financial activities, guiding them through financial process and implications of financial outcomes
- Collaborate with external accounting firm personnel and auditors
- Publish and review monthly financial statement
- P&L datasheet
- Review and approve weekly payment run entry.
- Monthly and annual reporting
- Ensure reporting is compliant with statutory law regulations
- Develop and improve the accounting system
- Prepare and post the accruals and prepayments journal each month
- Liaise with external advisors
- Assisting with accounting tasks such as invoicing or tracking purchase order numbers
- Approving client or supplier payments
- Investigating accounting irregularities, mistakes, or potential fraud
- Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
- Producing regular financial reports, such as budgets or cash flow forecasts
- Offering advice and suggestions to management that can improve the accounting processes and financial stability of a company
- Reconciling balance sheets
- Ensuring compliance with legal accounting standards
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
Essential Skills:
Be CCAB or CIMA qualified
Excellent excel skills including pivot tables and V Look Up
Proven experience as a head of finance or similar field
The ideal candidate skill set:
- Minimum 5 years post-qualified working experience in a leading accounting position within a face-paced and dynamic position, preferably a Senior Tax Accountant or Senior Accountant
