Candidates will help the service users with their daily needs, life skills and help promote independence.
Job Title: Support worker
Rate of Pay: £8.21 - £14 P/H with enhanced rates applicable on Nights, weekends and bank holiday
Daily duties of A Support Worker:
The role will include: Transport/accompany service user on public transport, to provide healthcare needs when required, develop a support plan to meet these needs of the service user, recording and reporting of activities undertaken and highlighting any changes in a service user's condition, assistance with shopping, cooking, education needs, helping access groups, activities, college and the community, personal care assistance if required. You will provide supported living to individuals who have moderate to severe learning disability with complex challenging needs or mental health diagnosis over the age of 16 years old.
The service users can show signs of challenging behaviour at times and some are non-verbal. Experience of at least 6 months in the last 3 years in support and HCA work is required in order to provide the right care and support.
Requirements of a Support Worker:
A kind hearted and passionate carer with enthusiasm and a mind to work hard. Keen to learn new things, to help support the needs of the service users when required and an understanding of challenging behaviour. Knowledge of supporting service users with complex needs and who may be disabled or have learning difficulties. Must have at least 6 months + healthcare work experience in the last 3 years and a valid adult and child DBS. Drivers preferred but not essential.
