Overview

The half-day medication awareness course is aimed at care staff or those working in the care environment. It falls in line with the current requirements and CQC guidelines. The learner will gain an understanding of the legislation involved with medication, along with procedures set for safe administration. The awareness course does not mean the learner can administer medication within a care setting. It does, however, allow them to administer creams and ointments.   The learner will also have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and security with regard to all procedures of medication administration. It covers their roles and responsibilities and limitations of those responsibilities
